PROPEL Takes Students to Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee

Marta Batmasian, an experienced Florida real estate executive, has managed Investments Limited with her husband James since the early 1970s. A prominent figure in the Boca Raton community, Marta Batmasian actively participates in several local organizations, and she founded PROPEL (People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership), a nonprofit organization that operates a range of support programs for disadvantaged Florida youth.

One of PROPEL’s recent events took deserving high school students on a week-long trip to Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee. The event was designed to help participants develop positive relationships and build the skills necessary to become leaders in their communities. During their trip, which took place July 11-18, 2014, the students toured the Johnson University campus, completed service projects, and participated in a variety of leadership and team-building exercises. Students also enjoyed a number of fun recreational activities, including hiking and river tubing in the Smokey Mountains. Although the students paid a fee to attend, the trip was also funded in part by generous contributions from PROPEL supporters.
